Welcome
Welcome to our Practice. We are a small Practice aiming to provide a personal, friendly, efficient and high quality service to all our patients. This website tells you about the Practice, the people who work here and the services we offer. In addition we include some information about common illnesses with steps you can take without needing to see a Doctor. There is also advice about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Appointments
Please make an appointment at the Practice by contacting our appointments desk personally or by telephone. Routine appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals.
Telephone consultations are also available with any doctor. If you wish to speak to a doctor please ring the surgery for an appointment.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please telephone to cancel as soon as possible.

Self Care for You Course
This course will help you make healthy choices and improve not just your lifestyle but your family’s too. It will help you to become more self-confident and give you different ways of coping with stress and anxiety. In addition, when you suffer from a minor illness, you may be able to handle it yourself and recognise when you need to get outside help. Contact Chris Hodges 01395 280365 or e-mail on chrishodges@nhs.net for more information.
The picture has been donated by Graham Jowett-Ive to be raffled and the proceeds to go towards clinical equipment for the Practice.

Books Wanted
Any unwanted books would be gratefully received. They will be placed on sale in the waiting room and are proving a good fund raiser contributing towards medical equipment for the Practice.

Support the Surgery
Here at Imperial Practice we have a Patient Support Group, which is a registered charity (called the Imperial Venture Group).  The support group is run by a management committee, consisting of patients - elected at the Group's AGM - and Practice representatives.

The Patient Support Group brings various benefits to the Practice and its patients, these are:
Volunteer car service for transport to and from the surgery
Fund raising activities to help purchase practice equipment
Ensures the patients' voice is heard at times of policy reviews

The support group can only be successful if you get involved.  If you feel you can contribute, please leave your name and details with reception, where you can obtain a membership form.  Membership of the support group is free, but of course donations are always welcome.
Pulse Oximeter
This is the latest piece of medical equipment that the IVG are raising funds for. A pulse oximeter monitors the oxygen levels within the blood. It can also register the patient's heart rate. It is a non-invasive piece of equipment and any medical conditions of the lungs, heart or blood flow and blood volume will be highlighted by the reading given by the machine.

The above photo is of the latest donation to the Practice by the IVG. It’s a medi-plinth 3 section hydraulic couch. This is the 4th couch that the IVG have donated to the Practice. Other items that they have donated recently include
- ECG machine
- Portable ECG machine
- 2 blood pressure monitors
- 3 Blood glucose meters
- Pulse oximeter
As well as the above they are financially helping one member of staff with a personnel course.
To thank the IVG for all their hard work in fundraising a buffet lunch was held on 22 July 08 at the Practice. At the lunch Dorothy Shaw, Chairman handed over the couch to the Practice.
