News

As of  4th January there will be no Health Visitor Clinics held at Imperial Medical Practice. There will still be a clinic at Haldon House on a Tuesday 2-3pm, Withycombe Clinic on Wednesday 2-4pm and Tree Tops on a Tuesday 1.30-.30pm.

Telephones
The direct dial numbers are working well and have improved communication. The phones are always staffed and if you have not had an answer after 5 rings put the phone down and try again. The average answer time for our phones is 5 rings. Anything longer means you are lost inside the computer!

E-mail Addresses:
The Practice is vigorously tring to build up an effective database of e-mail addresses as well as telphone numbers for its patients. Please do assist in this initiative either by filling out the forms that are on the Reception desk when you next visit the surgery or send our Practice Manager, Bob Bryant an e-mail from our website or to Bobbyrant@nhs.net.  We will then be able to keep you up-to-date with our newsletters by e-mail. Thank you for your help.

Hayfever
It's that time of year again when many of us suffer itchy eyes, sneezing and blocked or runny noses.  Tree pollens in spring and then grass and hay pollens in summer are the most common causes, although virtually any pollen can cause hay fever.  This may be reduced by spending less time outside, avoiding cutting grass, wearing wrap-around sunglasses, washing hair when coming back indoors and using pollen filters in the car air vents.  Look out for information on weather forecasts as the pollen count index is often given.  Treatments include antihistamine tablets, nose sprays, and eye drops which can be bought over the counter.  Remember some antihistamine tablets can make you drowsy - ask your pharmacist for advice.  For those who have had a prescription from their doctor in past summers, please send in a written request to the surgery.  You do NOT need to make an appointment with the doctor or nurse.  This should be more convenient for you and will free up appointments for emergencies.
