When We Are Closed
An emergency service is available evenings and weekends - please telephone 111
Doctors from Exmouth and Exeter work in shifts to cover the out-of-hours service. There is a treatment centre at Exmouth Hospital and a doctor can visit you at home when an emergency arises. Any telephone calls received when the surgery is closed will be diverted to the out-of-hours service.
NHS 111
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call 111 to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out-of-hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
If you need advice when the surgery is closed pharmacists are able to deal with minor ailments. Alternatively, Exmouth Minor Injuries Unit is on hand to treat both residents and visitors of Exmouth.
Their opening times are 8.00am-10.00pm everyday of the year.
