The Practice Nurses are available by appointment and are able to offer a wide range of services. They are particularly concerned with preventing disease and promoting good health.

The Practice Nurses undertake procedures including cervical smear tests, blood tests, ECGs, ear syringing (please ask at reception for information on ear syringing as it is no longer done routinely), injections, dressings and routine immunisations.

They offer routine health checks – including those for newly registered patients, travel vaccinations and advice concerning minor ailments and injuries. They also monitor, inform and support those with diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, and women taking HRT. They are able to give contraceptive and sexual health advice.

The Healthcare Assistants work under the supervision of the Practice Nurses and are trained in clinical tasks such as taking blood and measuring blood pressure.

Practice Management

The Practice Managers are responsible for the general management and day-to-day running of the Practice and may be able to help with any administrative or non-medical matters. They are also available to discuss suggestions or receive complaints.

Training

Student Doctors

As a training practice we also host medical students in all stages of their development to learn a variety of aspects about working in a surgery and to widen further their clinical knowledge. Dr Moffat, Dr Dunn and Dr Turner work together to deliver their training within the practice.

Registrars

The Practice are proud to be trainers of Registrars at the practice. Dr Moffat, Dr Dunn and Dr Turner are the training doctors who oversee the development and training of both the students and the registrars within the practice, we are privileged as team to be part of their ongoing training.

All the doctors offer general medical services, contraceptive services, maternity medical services, and child surveillance. Dr Turner holds contraceptive clinics and Dr Nicholson performs joint injections. The doctors are also involved in medical student education and training.
